Need help again

Hello Rvitco, my TF2 arrived yesterday and guess what,
there is a very small current leak from the powerhead.
Is there anything I can do other than sending it back
to Germany? There are no local service agents in this part
of the world. I am quite surprised as I thought quality
control would have detected this.
I also noticed that there is no earth wire, can this be the
problem?
There is no structural defect in the casing as far as I can see.

I would be very surprised because 12V should be below the limit of what the human body can perceive. Besides that a leak into the motor on that pump would stop it's operation as their is a circuit board inside that would essentially fry out instantly. I would double check this as I really don't think it is possible, maybe the cord is wet and conducting current from another source? I think your best option is to send it to Germany but I would really check this, running it in a bucket would be the best way to test and use a Voltmeter or ideally a watt meter that would verify the correct watt consumption, if a short exists it would be higher. I just don't think this can happen.

Roger. thanks for the reply. I detected the leak when I tested
the aquarium water with a screwdriver which doubles as a voltage
leak detector. I do not have a current meter. I always test a new pump for current leak before putting
my hand into the water due to a previous 'shocking' experience
(no pun intended).
I guess I'll just have to send it back to Germany then.
