Need help controlling heater

I am a bit confused as to how going about controlling my heater to turn on when my temp drops below 76F and turn off once the temp reaches more than 78F. The issue I seem to be facing is that my heater doesn't seem to be turning on when the temp goes below 76F, it is plugged into the S5 slot. The S5 slot is set as Temperature 1 Heater, but yet according to Profilux Control, the S5 power is not turned on when it should be.

Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong, unless my heater is messed up.

Did you turn on your heater to the max so that is it would alwasy be on if it was connected to a live source all the time?

No, the dial on the heater is currently set to 77F. Should the heater be turned up all the way?

Well in the S5 LED on but not your heater?? Is so then the is a temperature diffirence betwean the heater and the temp probe....

Never turn the heater to max but just enough so it does not counteract the profilux.

As Boboxx says you are dealing with a temp difference and also seeing how innacurate heater stats really are!

In case of any malfunction you would have fish soup!
-> I recommend to adjust the heater 1°C above the nominal value

Its not a case of trusting the ProfiLux as an individual item, its about putting in defence systems against the unknown.

Nothing is 100% guarranteed for life, no matter what it is or who makes it.

Even if I had a controller made by NASA under the watchful eye of every possible quality control system I still would not stick my heater at max.
