Need help for setup of my LPS tank

I could really use some help with my flow setup. My tank is 110 gal. The dimensions are 48"x18"x28h". What model stream(s) or powerheads should I use if my tank is going to be LPS exclusive? And what controllers would I need? Unfortunately, I'm not at all mechanically inclined and get lost reading these posts real easy. Sorry if this question has been asked a million times but I can never find a tank that matches my dimensions and is LPS exclusive.

I have a 2" sandbed with 160lbs of rock. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

Bob

I would recommend 2 7400/2 powerheads and a 7095 controller. You could use Streams potentially if their are no hammers/torches/frogspawns/bubbles/eleagance in your collection. I would get the magnet holders too if you are frustrated by mechanical devices, this will simplify installation.

Thank you for the reply. The 7400/2's it is because I have some of those LPS in my tank. I appreciate your help. I figured on those but wanted to be sure before I plop the money down on the wrong ones.

If I can bother you one more time. Would you recommend the new wavemaker for an LPS tank? I love the idea of no dead spots. Especially since my tank is rather deep. Is 4" long enough for it to run properly?

Those corals do not like direct flow, they will not fully expand, they do best in a gentle flow that is bounced off another surface. The Streams provide a direct wide current diffuse flow but it is still strong, the Stream pumps are the correct choice for Leathers and SPS and you can keep the above with special provisions in regards to placement of the pumps and corals.

Bob, you could scrap one 7400/2 and 7095 and get a 7400/2 and a 7091 and wavebox and yes, that would be awesome flow and ideal for the corals, I only didn't jump to mention it because let's face it, they cost as much as both of the 7400/2 would. They give a very natural gentle movement and I can say my corals which are mainly LPS but stuff like blastos and acanths love it.

Thanks for the help again Roger. I really appreciate it. Think I'm going to go with the wavemaker. I've got my wife on board with it even though it's a little pricey. In the long run this looks like the best setup. Very natural and the videos I've seen of it look fantastic.

So I'll get the one 7400 with the single controller, the wavemaker and magnet holders. Anything else I need?

thanks again,

Bob
