picked this up as an efflo From the lfs

Some sort of browned-out, tabling Acopora sp. It's pretty hard to ID an acro beyond that.

Usually yes they do,especially when they grow out and get bigger, but I have seen many that are imported when they are younglings that don't. Need a better photo for a more positive ID. Could be an efflo?

Indeed. It is almost a crap shoot when you buy those little maricultured colonies. They can do all sorts of funny things once they start bulking up.
