Need help identifying what's going on with my mushroom...(WITH PICTURES)

Well, for the past day or two my mushroom has had some kind of brown tube/string comming out of his "mouth"...I don't know if it's reproducing, dieing, or if maybe my shrimp ripped it out of him...what's happening? He hasn't really "fanned" out or anything since it has been like this either so I'm kind of worried...my water parameters all seem good so I don't think it's that...if anyone can help it's appreciated.

it kind of looks like a snail shell to me. Is it hard or soft?

No, I think it's soft...it's not a shell, it's deffinately something comming out of the mushrooms "mouth", from like the inside...I can't tell if it's some way of reproducing, or if my cleaner shrimp picked at him and pulled it out, or what....thanks for the reply though.

I don't think it would take a few day to discharge but I don't see any other explanation besides dying and I hope for you it's not that. Keep us posted though.

Well, I think it might have been some kind of parasite worm or something. About 4 days ago or so I built up my courage seeing that they already were not doing well, and pulled whatever the heck it was out of him and threw it away. since then the other one has bloomed out greatly and the one on the left is making more progress everyday...it seems they will be okay. Thanks everyone!
