need help on hair algae

I dose 2 mLs per gallon of tears daily.

Hair algae is the wooorst.. all I can suggest is a lot if manual removal and water changes to get rid of as much of it (and the chemicals causing it) as you can.

I'd do weekly 20% water changes. Also, check your filters if you're using your own RO/DI for your top off or mix water. Lastly, add a phosphate reactor with some GFO or change your media. I neglected my tank for awhile and had a massive outbreak. I did that and added a pincushion urchin. It's all gone and my tank is looking good now.Hope it helps

+1

tuxedo urchin is good too, just make sure your small frags are pinned down since they like to carry things on their backs

I had a sea hare that eats hair algae like a machine. You can borrow him if you want until the underlying problem is fixed. My tank doesn't have enough algae now to sustain him but I'm keeping it until i get my new tank cycled. Let me know. It is hungry.
