Need help retro lighting

Ok so I am retrofitting a current outer orbit light to a wood hood. I am gutting the fixture and moving it all over. My question is what to do with the green ground wire coming from the power cord. I know on fixtures it is just bolted to the unit to ground the whole unit, But what about a wood hood, That would not conduct to ground anything. So should I just cut it and cap it or ground it to the ground wire (black from power cord).

16 blue leds

2 MH ballast
4 PC ballast
3 fans
1 timer / controller

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The ground should be tied to any metallic objects that may come into contact with electricity in a fault situation. If there are none.. then just cap it. Do not tie it to neutral

and I should have added..
and obviously there are a few chunks of metal in there (heatsinks,etc..) that could possibly become energized so they should be tied to the ground conductor.

i am alarmed that you considered connecting it to the neutral line. be careful please.
