I'm very interested in the Profilux Light II controller, but not sure it will grow with me.

First off, do you have a pdf manual on this device? I could not locate it on your main website. I would like to review all the operations. If so that would be great.

My current tank is a 14" nano cube, but loaded. :)

I am using the Aqua Illumination LED module, 2 Tunze 6055 pumps in wavecontroller mode, and the rest is a moot point.

Questions:
1. Will the Lightcontroller support independant operation of both Tunze pumps? For example, I may want to run one on wave mode and the other pulse mode. Would I just buy two Tunze cables? Or do I need a splitter and both pumps must perform the same Power settings?

2. Can I get the independant operation with Plus II controller?

3. Can I run the AI LED light on the Light controller? Does it have all the same lighting controlls as the Plus II?

4. What can I do with the LED lights? The light controller that comes with the unit is too basic. It allows for sunrise and sunset with intensity controll but I want more. I would like to do this:
Sunrise for 30 minutes at 0800 to reach White 35% and Blue 100%. Continue this until Noon, then increase White 100% Blue 100% until 2pm, then decrease White 35% Blue 100% until 4pm. Sunset at 4pm for 30 minutes to Lunar cycle with Blue 5% and White 0%. Can I do this with the Light controller or the Plus II???

5. I currently own a Neptune Controller II with ORP, pH and Temp. These have BNC connector. Can I use these probes with the Plus II?

6. I own a reef fanatic level controller. Can I use these float switches with the Plus II?

It sure would be nice to condense all my controllers to a single unit. Would the Plus II meet all my needs minus the ORP feature? What does the Plus II EX give you? It looks like you get ports for ORP, salinity but no probes. Is this all? Software for pump and light control is the same?

Uno mas:
On the Tunze control options, can I run the wave mode all the way down to 0.30 seconds with Power 1 0% and Power II 100%?

Does it allow for time adjustments of 0.01s just like the new Tunze 7096 controller with wavebox control?

Hi

I will put the answers below your questions

Questions:
1. Will the Lightcontroller support independant operation of both Tunze pumps? For example, I may want to run one on wave mode and the other pulse mode. Would I just buy two Tunze cables? Or do I need a splitter and both pumps must perform the same Power settings?

You can have indpendant control of each, yes

2. Can I get the independant operation with Plus II controller?

Yes

3. Can I run the AI LED light on the Light controller? Does it have all the same lighting controlls as the Plus II?

YES

You can do all this with both and more.

5. I currently own a Neptune Controller II with ORP, pH and Temp. These have BNC connector. Can I use these probes with the Plus II?

You can yes but the kits come with a new pH probe.

6. I own a reef fanatic level controller. Can I use these float switches with the Plus II?

No, GHL use specific error correction sensors for optimum safety.

It sure would be nice to condense all my controllers to a single unit. Would the Plus II meet all my needs minus the ORP feature? What does the Plus II EX give you? It looks like you get ports for ORP, salinity but no probes. Is this all? Software for pump and light control is the same?

The plus II would meet all your needs and in the future you can either add the ORP expansion card or fit teh EX expansion kit.

From what you have listed the plus II kit is your best choice

Let me know if you need more info

Cool. Thanks for the help.

Not decided on which model yet, but it looks like I will need the controller plus:
2 Tunze cables
1 AI cable
2 float switches (if I get the Plus)

Do I need any other extras to perform the above operations?

Cheers

Oh, what about this question in the second post.

On the Tunze control options, can I run the wave mode all the way down to 0.30 seconds with Power 1 at 0% and Power 2 at 100%?

If so, can I run two Tunze pumps with this same setting?

During night mode, does the power turn down to a preset level? If so what is that power level? Or does it revert to the Power I setting?

I have the new Tunze 7096 controller and a feature I do not like is that in night mode, the pump operates in Power 1, which in my case is the wavebox mode of 0%. Thus, the pump is completely off at night. I would prefer it go to a soft 30% power or so.

Thanks for your help. I will likely make a purchase this weekend.
Cheers

Martin answered one thread about extras, but not the thread about the timing for the wavebox mode.

However, I do not understand what cables I need, based on his response. Can you help with that?

I need some help trying to get all the right parts on one order.

I plan to use the Plus II or Plus II EX. Still not sure.

My system is a 14" cube tank, but loaded with extras.

Aqua Illumination single LED module
100 watt heater
2 Tunze 6055 pumps. I want to control them independantly Wavebox mode too.
Tunze Nano Skimmer
ATO with 2 float sensors, I have the powerhead already

Please help me select the proper cables, sensors, mounts, etc.

Do I need another power bar?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GOT THIS ONE. AI-Cable for that -> Aqua Illumination single LED module

GOT THIS ONE powerbar 4 or 6 socket to control this -> 100 watt heater (temp probe will come with the set)

WHAT??? 1 Tunze one cable 1 Tunze two cabel and a splitter needet here ->2 Tunze 6055 pumps. I want to control them independantly Wavebox mode too.

WHAT??? depends on if you want to switch it of sometimes you can use one socket of the powerbar you only use for the heater right now ->Tunze Nano Skimmer

WHAT???one Base two S8 holder and an Y-Cable for niveau needed here (2 float switch also )-> ATO with 2 float sensors, I have the powerhead already

Hiya

I will unravel this for you

You need 1 Tunze drive cable per Tunze

This plugs in the back of the controller to what is known as L ports

each L port can be split into two ports using a cables called a YL2-1

So if you want to run two Tunzes on L1L2 you would require

Tunze1
Tunze2
YL2-1

The wavebox you would run independant using a Tunze1 cable on L3

Moving onto the level

if you wish just to do auto top off then all you need is

1 x Floater (level switch)
1 x PL-S8 (float switch holder)
1 x PL-Base ( level sensor bracket assy)

In regards to controllers I would start with the ProfiLux Plus II and add the EX upgrade kit at a later stage, unless you are wanting things like Salinit control and ORP control immediatly

Drop me a line at sales@aqua-digital.com and we can discuss further

I am away at a conference right now so but I will try and get back to you as promptly

I got a reply from Mattias

the minimum wave duration is 0.1s
you can run several pumps, with different settings or in parallel
there is an extra option for the pump power during night->you can chose if it should be completely off or if it should run with e.g. 30%

That makes the control feature do exactly what I want. I should be able to run both pumps in Wavebox mode and mute them to about 30% at night.

Perfect. I was going to buy from an online store, but I did not find any that sell the AI cable. At least the cable is not posted on the site. Do you think they would have it, and I just need to call them?

So on the pumps, I want to run them separately. Therefore I do not need the splitter. I would need two Tunze 1 cables. I plug one into L1/L2 the other goes into L3/L4

For the level control. Those parts you listed are for just one float right? If that is the case would the optical sensor be more accurate. I have had issues with standard floats sticking.

My current device is a Reef Fanatic Level Control. I have a float in the resavoir to prevent the pump from running dry. Is there an option for the Profilux to mimic this setup?

Hiya

The Ai cables are supplied by Reef Geek so give them a call ;)

In regards to level control, the only sensor available right now is the highly stable and accurate GHL floater level sensor. These work flawlessly and also we have not had any reported issues other than long term natural wear and tear.

In a few months a new sensor comes out, this will be a external optical sensor. I have no real date for its launch

Yes there is an array of options for level control with profiLux in fact i think they have more than any other type of level control system.

So for set up -

ATO - just one sensor required

AWC (auto water change) - Two sensors

AWC and ATO - Two sensors

AWC - alarm and ATO - 3 sensors

That helps a lot. Okay, I'm going online to order. there is one thing I'm not quite sure of. I have reviewed most of the manuals and I cannot find a picture of the powerbar jacks. Does teh cable connect the unit to the powerbar? What happens if you use the digital 6 socket bar? The connector only says S1-4. Can all six sockets be programmed to do anything? Or, are there some limitations.

I am going to connect two Tuze 6055 pumps to L1 and L3 using western cables. Do I plug these power cords into a regular socket, or does it have to be plugged into the Profilux digital socket bar?

Looks like the AI cable uses the RC232 jack. Again, can I plug the power cord from the AI into a standard socket, or does it have to be on teh digital socket bar?

Again, thanks for all your help. The manual does not show all the connections and it does not explain where to connect the power cords for devices like the Tunze pumps and AI lights.

Cheers,
Scott

Okay, I ordered. I also added the USB expansion module. Will this allow me to use the AI light while also connecting to the computer and making changes without lights going off?

Answer - yes there is a dedicated data cable from ProfiLux to power bar.

S1S4 is a programmable socket, meaning the digital power bars plug only into this socket, so if you have 3 power bars, the first plugs into S1S4 and the second into the other data socket on the power bar in effect daisy chaining them, the power bars are first programmed to what socket you wish them to react to.

Example - first power bar is default socket 1-6 each socket can be programmed to do anything you like AC power wise.

If you now want to add a further 6 sockets, first you must program it to react as socket 7 through to 12, once you have done that you plug the second data cable in to the first power bar port.

You can also daisy chain the dosing pumps into this also. this makes for simple clearly defined and neat wiring from the profiLux

Answer - You will want to plug the Tunzes into L1L2 and use the splitter cable YL2-1

so to run two tunzes you require

Tunze1 cable
Tunze2 cable
YL2-1

You do not need to plug the power line for the Tunzes into a power bar strip tey can go to any wall socket.

Answer - Yes into any standard socket

awesome. You have been a big help. I will likely offer a product review once I get all up and running. It shoudl be fun.
