Need help tank stand!

I've been searching to make sure this stand is safe for my 90 gallon RR but no luck. Tanks is 3/8 thick glass and stand is made 1x4, I'm worried about not having a brace in the middle of the stand and also have a gap in the rear from stand to glass. Did a water test everything seem fine, no leaks or bowing in the glass. This is a second hand set up previes owner said everything is made for the 90 set as he had it set up. Thanks for the help


Also all corner of the tank are sitted perfect it's just that gap

Does the gap disappear when the tank is full of water? I wouldn't worry about it on a rimmed tank.

What abut not having a center brace on the stand?

I share these very same fears, hence why it's taken me so long to get started on my setup

You don't need a center brace if your stand is properly designed. Not having a center brace allows more accessibility for sump, etc. rimmed glass tanks do not need to be supported along the entire bottom. As long as they are supported on the ends, they are okay. It looks like the design of your stand is to primarily support on the ends, which reduces need for center brace. Are there beams running along the front and rear spans?

find the sump set up for your 90g first, if I was you add six of 4x6, ( 2 x fronts, 2 x backs and 2 x centers) for support the tank

The stand is fine and will last a long time. Glass tanks only need to be supported around the perimeter. The small gap in the back is not a big issue.

Most of the stands you see people building are way over built. Even the ones I've built for people are way over built because for some reason, they think it needs to be built that way.

That looks like a nice factory made stand and I can guarantee you that they had a structural engineer design the stand. If you've ever seen the insides of a factory stand, you'd not be worrying about that one. I've reskined a lot of factory stands in my day, so I know what they look like under that nice veneer wood you see on the outside. That one looks like solid wood on the ends and corners which is great.

If you are really concerned you can put in a center brace in front which is removable. It serves to keep the doors latched and provides optional support.
