Hi everyone,

I've been having some issues with my nano, don't know why the corals don't look healthy. All of my test seem fine but I only have the API kit, wondering if someone who has a more advanced testing kit can have a look at my water parameters. Currently I'm using reef crystals for my salt I dont know if I have a bad batch??? Should I get different salt?

14 gallon nano, 30% water changed every week, I don't really dose anything I figured the water changes would be enough :headwallblue:

Thanks in advance

The tank has been up for 8-9 months, light is a Hydra 26, feeding every 3 days, corals are all softies a hammer and some shrooms and frogspawn

Thanks

Yes there is a skimmer that the fluval 14 came with its inside the tank on the back and yes more recently I've got some red slime on the sand ??

I think a 30% WC every week is too much. I would do a 10% every week; less of a dramatic change. Just my $.02

I have been running nano tanks for years and have seen them crash due to a drop in water temperature. Big thing to remember with smaller tanks is when you do water changes you need to be getting the new water up to the tank temperature before putting it in. If your tank is at 79 and the water you change of 30% is room temp, 69-72, then it cools the water down instantly and creates stress in tank. The parameters would be fine but the corals not so much. Just a thought.
