I posted this in the lighting forum, but wasn't getting many responses. I am looking to upgrade my lighting, but lighting is one area of this hobby I haven't mastered yet. I was looking at the second fixture on this page http://www.hamiltontechnology.com/s...Deluxe+Metal+Halide+with+Compact+Fluorescents
My fist question is it doesn't look like it can be suspended and it doesn't come with legs so how does it go on the aquarium? I wouldn't think it could go directly on a glass top, but I may be wrong.
Secondly, if it does sit on a top, even with the fans would I need a chiller?
Thirdly the reason I want to upgrade is b/c I would like to be able to keep a clam and possibly an anemone and maybe some sps. Would this be sufficient? I would choose the 175w 14k halide bulb and 03 blue actinic.
The tank is an Oceanic 40g stretch hex. Its dimensions are L30.5xW21xH18.5. I currently have a pc fixture by Hamilton. Thanks for the help everybody!
