thanks for all tips and info as it has helped me immensely I am a 6 month newbie and having some decent success (knock on fish tank glass),I nearly lost all of my fish last week and it hit me that i have thousands invested in tank fish equipment but only a 15 dollar airator for backup, and have read countless horrer stories about total wipeouts during outages, anyways what would someone suggest for a 125 fowlr tank, it does not seem that there are any commercial backup life support power systems available upon searching online , what do fellow fish owners utilize for piece of mind to sustain there tanks for longer periods of outages that come on automatically especially when away busness vacation for piece of mind as i am having nightmares of total wipeouts since close call, thanks

Like paulpp187 say if you can get a generator that would be the best thing to do.

If because you live in an apartment and can't have a generator then the a good thing to do would be to get a marine battery and a convertor and setup a system where if the power goes off it will run off the battery and convertor.
