Need help with heaters

I am looking to purchase heaters, test kits and thermometer.
Does anyone have a preference on them, which brands are the most common, the best, the best buy?

Thermometer: I'd go with the Coralife Digital. It's nice and quite inexpensive at about $7.

Test Kits: Salifert is the way to go. They are more expensive than most, but give more accurate readings. Most swear by them.

As for a heater...I can't help you there. I have had good luck with Visi-Therm Stealths though. :)

as heaters go ..from what I've heard they all have units that fail. the best thing to do is buy multiple smaller units incase one stay on to long. in my tank I have 4 smaller heaters instead of one. Also if you can buy a separate controller instead of using the one that comes with them.

The coralife is not accurate. You pay for what you get.

Salifert are good test kits.

I use a controller with titanium heaters. Works very well and safe from heater failures.
