Need help with my clownfish

Evyllchyld

Trying again
My clown fish over the coarse of my nap did something to himself I'm guessing. The top of his head, on the white stripe looks like its been scrapped off a little bit. My roomate described it as "The white stripe is cracking" It almost looks like he ran into something, or rubbed his head up agaisnt something and some white was rubbed off... I can't take pictures because my camera won't be detailed enough to show what i'm talking about. Anyone have a clue??? Hes been fine for about a week and a half (since the LFS got him)

If it looks like trauma it is not unusual. About every 3 months or so my female Clarkii gets a bug up herself and runs into the rockwork and gets a little pop-eye. It should heal itself over a couple weeks, some recommend adding garlic to food but I don't think it really helps.

If it isn't something as simple as that it could be a disease, you'll know if it gets worse rather than better. I am not a disease guy at all so you'll have to look to other for help in that area.

Sounds like normal trauma of reef-life. Keep an eye on this specimen. If you notice any behavioral changes (e.g., poor appetite) or infection repost the situatuion.

My female black ocellaris is always scraping up her male counterpart. With good diet and excellent water quality it usually heals within a week. HTH

Thanks everyone, thats what I figured, but thats why these forums are here.... Rather be safe then sorry.
