need help with setting up for TTM

ok so I have posted on here that my powder brown has ich in my DT. Its a 125 FOWLR. Had it for about 2 weeks and fish is eating great swimming great with about 3 to 4 spots on him, now on his other side. So thinking about TTM but do not have alot of space and extra tanks laying around. I was going to buy some rubbermaid totes to setup. Here is a list of fish I have in my tank. Pearlscale and auguria butterfly, scopas tang, saddleback puffer, bicolor angel and two clowns (these range from 1.5 to 3 inches) dragon wrasse and picasso trigger about 2.5 inches. should I split them into 2 totes or one.. I have 2 heaters and air pumps and asian stones. What gallon totes should I get and how would you split them up.. I have cupramine copper also, if someone can give me some help would be much appreciated. Also when I am done with the transfer where could I put them till the DT tank that has gone fallow for 72 days....would you remove the LR and treat the DT with cupramine...uuuugggghhhhh

Do you plan on going from fowlr to reef at some point in the future? if not yeah id recommend taking out the liverock and treating with cupramine. If you do want to have a reef tank some time in the future your going to have to Find somewhere to hold your fish for 72 days while the DT sits fallow after your done treating them.

If it were me I would go to petco and buy a 1.00 per gallon tank For QT and fallow the DT for 72 days.

IMO treating your DT is never a good idea. sometimes it may be the only option for someone, but you have to accept the risks associated with it (residual copper, etc).

the 72 days fallow of your DT is the best option. as for the current fish, treating (TTM or Cupramine) outside of the DT and housing them for a while; take advantage of Petco's sale as Dave pointed out... they have 10, 20, 29 and 40g tanks. i have 2 of each size sitting in an unused closet in my house just for when needed.

I'm currently doing ttm for three 3" tangs and a Midas blenny in 18 gallon Sterilite bins, running three AIR stones . At one point I had four tangs, but the yellow tang succumbed to whatever was upsetting it. Sad, as it was my oldest fish.

They're doing ok, but I would like to have used tanks as you can see them from the sides, obviously. Here, I admire them from the top and can only see signs when I transfer them out, or lack thereof. If your bins are large enough you may be able to get away with one? I saw some 45 gallon LONG, wheeled semi opaque bins at Walmart for $20, which may be an option? But with that many fish I am sure many will advise you to split them up.

How about using 2 40 gallon tanks and 2 totes and alternating between the 2 sets that way when I am done and waiting on the DT tank to run fallow for 72 plus days I can house them in the 2 40 gallon tanks once the TTM has been done???

2 houses minimum. If I was in your shoes I would personally be comfortable that 2 is enough with the fish you stated. Obviously the 40g for the larger fish, and could even do something smaller (20g) for the smaller guys.

the Petco 40g's are nice because they are the 40g breeder sizes (I am assuming this is consistent between stores anyway) so have a larger base rather than taller. note though that these are very heavy tanks! you will need 2 people when doing the transfers.

I think that's great. I would keep the sets together so the fish are used to seeing the same environment. I am keeping them in pink bins but I have all sorts of colors, so I keep using the pink colored ones to not confused them and the same shaped PVC pieces..
