Need help with T5 wiring

I just wired up an IC 660 to 4 48" t5 bulbs. When I plug it in the bulbs come one for a second then go off and stay off. Can anyone help with this?

The ballast itself is kickin itself off.

Its caused normally by a wiring issue or being grounded out.

It was wired for VHO, and it worked. I removed the VHO end caps and replaced them with T5 endcaps.

T-5 are not VHO. They are HO. My bad, unless you did indeed get the VHO T-5, most dont' know wbout those though.

HO t5 bulbs have to have a t5 ballast to run them, look on the ballast and see if it says
t5 and make sure the watt output vs consumption of the bulbs are the same. you can run any length bulbs and any number of bulbs you want as long as the wattage consumption doesn't exceed the output of the ballast, thats all the ballast cares about.
Look at the wiring diagram on the ballast and wire the tombstones accordingly.

No sir, T-5's do not need a T-5 ballast in order run be run. 660 will run em, and Workhorse ballast will run them.

The IC 660 will run 4-48" t5 bulbs, check your wiring. It wasn't doing this with the VHO was it?

I was able to get em to run as I specified above, on IC and Workhorse. Interesting.

I have a feeling it's in the brown or purple pair, check this closely. These 2 pairs return power from all 4 supply pairs and would easily cause the short.

It is four bulbs. I have added several more tanks since I last updated that info. So the wiring pattern does not need to be changed?

make sure the tombstones/end caps match the diagram on the ballast. As long as this matches they should fire.
