well to start off i am fairly new to adding reefs to the tank, i went out to all pets emporium that just opened by my house. i went out and bought these three reefs that are below and when i placed them in the tank they have not opened and i am worried that they might die. I do have reef snow that someone recommended me but I am not sure if that will help or there is something else better out there. Also i cant remember the names of the reef ( sorry remember i am new at this).

can anyone help me or give me tips on how to have these open? such as times to have my light on? of a different type of food for them? thanks any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok lets actually call them corals, not reefs. Second, Welcome to a whole new kind of obsession.

Start by telling us a little about your tank..How long has it been going? What do you test for? Lighting...etc?? Most corals will take a little while to properly acclimate so I wouldn't worry if they don’t open right away. I would stay away from feeding anything yet.

well the green star polyps can take a while to fully open when added, mine took over a week before i saw them start to come out.

well i have had it almost about a year, and the first two have opened up already, but the last one has not opened up at all. The other day i saw like two or three spots where it opened but now there is nothing.

How often do you do waterchanges and what kind of salt are you using? You look like you may have a pretty good cyno outbrake going on. In other words your water quality may not be the greatest.

Also what kind of light are you running and how long has it been since you changed the bulbs. If you tell us what kind you have then we can help with a light cycle.
