Need ideas for my softy tank

I have a 100 rubbermaid tub I have some pulsing xenia, a toadstool mushroom, and some kenya tree corals in umder a 250 watt MH light. I need something in there to make waste for the corals to eat. I do water changes with water out of my reef tank and I don't think it is dirty enough. I was thinking maybe a few pairs of cardinals. There is a lot of aptaisa in there, but I don't want the corals to get messed with too bad after they are gone. Looking for ideas, let me know what you think!

I had a yellow tang that left tons of coral food. Might be able to have more than one with the size of tank.
