Need info: long tentacle xenia

One of the earliest corals in the donor program was a long tentacle xenia. This is different from the standard pulsing (pom-pom) xenia that is pretty common. It is more brown with much longer tentacles.

Does anyone still have the long-tentacle xenia that was originally donated by Dale Jones? If not, does anyone have a colony of this they would be willing to frag in order to resurrect this donor coral?

I got some from ZC a LONG time ago with extra to give to OMAS, my colony died, and I have some back from the original colony given to OMAS. So, technically, I have a second generation frag from ZC.

I might be stepping on toes here, but I think I gave some to Adam (papagimp) when he attended the meeting at Pamela's home back in early 2006. I could be completely wrong because I'm not looking at the Donor Thread. I'll have to look through my refugium and see what would be the best way to frag it as well as how many I have. I might not bring the frags to the January meeting because of weather and prior engagements before the meeting (and possible postponements), but I should be able to bring something to the Feb or March meetings depending on how it all works out.

i have some as well tim but didnt get it from the frag program, come to think of it i havent gotten anything from the frag program. the xenia i have i have to frag about once every 2 weeks, it grows to fast. you are more than welcome to some of it.

Yes you did. I know I brought this one back at least twice now, but don't remember who got em. Sold a large colony of them several weeks back. Also have a medium sized colony in my mothers tank of them. And last but not least, I still have one polyp in my refugium. I'm waiting for him to split again and I'll be bringing another frag back to the donor program. Oh, and I think brook's mom caught some in her tank as well. This is far from a dead donor here. Plenty spread around.

Thanks all for the info. From the newer donor threads, I thought it was still alive but I was hoping that there wasn't confusion between pom-pom and long-tentacle. The early donor threads were very convoluted.

Agreed. It was difficult to hash out which Xenia was which, and condense the like ones.

I think I am on the donor list as having pulsing, but it is not pom pom. It is the long tentacled version. It is close to split size.

but the pom poms are xenia, scott. LOL. Sorry, not funny. I have more still, and I do plan to let it grow nice and big again. I'll get ya hooked up again, no worries.

I do have some of the long-tenacle xenia. It has grown quite a bit since coming to live at my house three weeks ago and I would be more than happy to share. Someone will need to tell me how to go about fragging it since I haven't done that on anything yet.
