Need info on seahorses

I am setting up a new seahorse tank - this is my first!! I recently shopped at Aquatic Marine, and he suggested I post on this forum for information.

1) I am looking at a 40-gallon column tank. Is this big enough for 2 pairs?
2) What breed of seahorse should I start with?
3) What advice could you give to a novice?

I currently have an established salt water tank (about 6 years).

There are some local folks that raise seahorses. "vipjd39". Maybe they will join in.

I actually have a 40 gal column that I'm going to be using for seahorses also. Let me know how it goes. It would be nice to have someone to compare notes to with a similar setup.

I havent seen Nikki or Jarrett on here ina while but there the most experienced locally. Like Eddie said there name is vipjd39.

Jarrett will answer if you PM him so you might try that. He and Nikki are definately the local experts and have had very good success raising ponies. Tank size depends on the species you're trying to raise.
