Need Information On Pumps

I am considering ditching 2 MP40w ES vortechs for 2 controllable tunze pumps. My tank is 125 gallon. I have a few questions...

1) How much quieter are the tunzes compared to the vortechs? The rattling is driving me nuts and I don't want to keep replacing bearings/parts every few months.

2) Will the flow be drastically reduced since vortech has a "wide flow" versus the direct stream type?

3) Will I be purchasing right before any products updates/upgrades? I just read about the lawsuit/flow rate advertised fiascal and I'm confused now about the pumps. Do pumps now have different power sources on them to increase flow - and include a wide-flow kit?

I am just really looking for something quiet that I can control. I do have an Apex and was hoping to have variable output/randomness with this.

Also concerned about warranty etc.. I am based in Canada.

best,

1) From our testing a new 6105 with fixed shaft measured 52db with an iPhone app meter (dB Pro), the competition was much higher but I am not an expert or using a professional instrument or measuring room so I won't get into exact numbers.

2) A 6105 has the option in the box of a wide flow nozzle or narrow flow nozzle, you get both, a 6095 is almost an exact flow pattern mimic.

3) We upped the voltage to 24V, that was all that was needed for the 6105, we now own an ultrasound meter and have tested to be sure our current numbers are correct. I would only add that the numbers in that study were at nearly point blank range, a dye test tells a very different story on the real results as our flow projects out, the competitions pumps reuptake the flow so it is a very short loop of flow where what comes out gets sucked right back in. If you go 6095 you will have more or less what you have, if you go 6105, it will be an increase in terms of movement in the tank.

I only handle the US warranty, the warranty is 2 years, Xenia Inc is the distributor for Canada.

Thank you for the fast reply Roger. So for a tank my size - I would be looking at:

(2) 6105's that are controllable with wide flow nozzle on each
(1) Neptune cable for the apex?

If something were to happen to my pumps - who would I contact in Canada. It seems many people go through you for the US. Must I purchase through Xenia to be covered or am I able to purchase the item anywhere?

Yes, though you will likely want to run the 6105's at 18V for the tank size, at least at first.

Each unit comes with 12 18 and 24 then? Also just to say again - who would be my point of contact for returns/fixing - contact Xenia directly? And do I have to purchase from xenia to get support or can I purchase from other CAN retailers?

Yes, 12, 18 and 24 are included. In the US, we do all repairs, I am not exactly sure how Xenia has it structured, I believe minor repairs are done through the dealers and more extensive repairs through Xenia. You could check with them from there site and also verify a dealer is an authorized dealer- www.xeniainc.com.
