Need Opinions

i had one and i would have to say overall performance it worked pretty well, the only complaint i had on it was after i had it for awhile it seemed to always overflow and i would always have to readjust it. Id have to say decent skimmer for the price.

I have no experience with that skimmer, but check the forsale posts, I see those on there everyweek for about half that price.

I have a used one I got from ipiniowa. I really like it, it pulls some great Skimmate, 1-2 cups a day. But it will overflow often, of course with an in-sump this is not a big deal, HOB would suck. I have to adjust it every day or two, so it is constantly getting adjusted up or down. I will upgrade in the next six months or so for this reason.

I would say it is worth the money for sure. But you might get it used on the for sale forum or on Ebay. You could save some $$, maybe not on Ebay though, skimmers seem to go ridiculously high there. $88 seems to be a great price for a new one, it might not be worth getting used at that price.

When I was going to do a 40B I purchased a CSS 125 (and I'm glad I did because I'm having a 70 gallon display now) because I don't think you can get a skimmer that's too big, it has a hole in the collection cup for a drain (which is easily handled with a drill if you go with the 65) and it was only about $40 more than a CS65.

I'm not actually using it yet so can't speak to performance - but I've heard that it's a decent skimmer out of the box to a good skimmer with some mods.

I would get a 125 if you can find it used for about the price of a 65 new - and read up on the mods people are doing (or may have already done if you get it used).

The reason I choose to go with the 65 is I'm limited on the space I have in my sump. I would like to go with one of the bigger ones but I just don't have the room.

From te way it sounds this is a pretty good skimmer for the money. Cause right now I'm running a bakpak and that just isn't cutting it.

Could anyone tell me where I could find some of the mod for this skimmer?
