A pod condo is an idea that someone on RC came up with to produce enough pods for a mandarin in a 29. He just took some gutter guard and zip ties and made a tube. He then sealed one end of the tube with more zip ties, filled it with rubble, and finally sealed the other end. This gave the pods and nice safe place to grow. I think he made two for his tank.
I always thought that these could really help the diversity of life in a tank. In telling someone about them this weekend I decided to give it a try. I'm going to make between 5-10 of these things and would like to place them in the sump of various club members. Once I get them back I will keep them for a few months and them send them out again.
It's a theory but I hope this will increase the types of pods and various other little critters in my tank.
Would anyone be willing to drop one of these into their sump for me for a month or two? They will be a little larger than a soda can.
PS. I don't know if the guys mandarin survived, so I wouldn't suggest anyone use them for that purpose.
