Need power head ideas

I have a 40 breeder and gonna do mostly sps corals and very few fish. What type of cheaper power heads would do good for this setup?

Just got some tunze for like 40 each, nice and quiet, two or three ought to do it for a 40b

I know people had a ton of success before they existed but I prefer wavemakers over regular powerheads. So if u want cheap I would go with a couple jabeos. I had a couple of PP 4’s in my 40 breeder for a while & they were about perfect. Once my sps started to fill in I felt like I needed a little more flow so I added a cp-25. So I have 2 pp 4’s & a cp-25 in my 40 breeder. I do have to keep the cp 25 turned way down. I like the flow options of the controllable wavemakers rather then the regular on or off powerheads

Don't you need power heads with a wavemaker?

It's terminology.

When someone says Powerhead, this is usually what is pictured:

This is a wavemaker:

But some people still call wavemakers powerheads.

And then there is me.. when I hear the word wavemaker I think of the Tunze Comline Wavebox 6208 for example.

The above are all just powerheads with different ways to spit the water out. I am probably wrong though!

Technically they're all impeller-driven circulation pumps. You're not wrong!

For a 40 breeder a couple Koralia Evolution 1500's should work. Just place them up top at opposite ends of the tank facing each other. Being that they're on a swivel you can move one a little to the left, a little to the right etc and get a whole new set of currents flowing throughout the tank.

I could have probably worded it differently but when I say powerheads I mean something like a korilia that is basically just on & off with no controller. What I meant by wavemakers is somthing with a controller that u can adjust the speed & has different settings. Something that actually can make a wave.

If I was on a budget I would get two jabeo pp-4’s or whatever the new jabeos are called now
