need pump advice

Have a 75gal with sump up and running, connecting a 30gal via some 3/4" pvc to this system, need to know how big of a pump to get.

ok, currently have a mag 9.5 in the sump as the return pump. It has a branch off going into a small fuge, but its moslty closed off, not a lot of flow to it. There is a 4.5 fo0t rise to the top of the 75 where theres a spray bar in the tank. (tank also has a closed lo0p for flow)

Over to the 30gal would be about an 8 fo0t run, all downhill. Again, I dont know how much flow I really want through here, its eventual use will be a prop tank for frags.

Ive had great luck with my mag9.5 so far, submerged in my sump. So I was thinking of getting another one, just larger. Think a mag12 would do what I want? If not, which one would some of you suggest? I am also open to other brands.

Although they have the same 0' rating, an Eheim 1262 would have quite a bit more flow than the Mag9. It will be quieter too.

i like the amount of flow that the 9.5 is putting out right now into my 75. When I add an 8 fo0t run over to the 30gal, the flow rate is going to reduce dramatically in the 75gal (or so i would think).

I would like to keep the current flow or maybe a little more in the 75 PLUS be able to feed the 30gal off the same pump. So far, everyones talking about me keeping the same or downsizing. Neither of those seem like options imo.

Tunze also makes a good pump.

But why do you need to be feeding both tanks off 1 pump? Why not just add a pump to the Mag 9 to feed the 30 say an Eheim1050.

PS. You can also gravity feed the second tank from the main. Thereby, you don't have to buy a new pump

I would rather not have 2 pumps in there. 2 pumps would take up more ro0m, use 2 plug sockets instead of one, use more electricity and generate more heat than just 1 pump.

I dont know if gravity fed would be enough flow for the 30gal.

Try an ocean runner pump. I've been using the 2500 on my 50 gallon for close to a year now without any problems at all. It's quiet, runs cool and has plenty of power. I'd probably jump up to the 3500 hundred for your needs. Ocean Runner 3500
If you felt like you needed more power you could always jump up to the 6500, but that's moving quite a bit of water.
