Need pump and flow help?

I am in early planning of a 300 LPS and softie Reef. I would like help with pump and flow sugestion. First let me say i Really like sequence pumps. I would like to use a Snapper as main return with two seaswirls and two Vetocity T4 on a closed loop, split by 4 each, (pumps most likelky to small) I would then need another small pump to feed skimmer and fuge.

My second set up would be a dart for main return 2 seaswirl and also feed my Reeflo 250 and chiller/fuge off the dart. With two snappers or 1 snapper on 1 T4 each split by 4, these will be on CL and turned off in the evenning, for less flow for night time feedings. The ? is set up 1 not enough flow and 2 or 3 too much for LPS and Softies?

Also what light set up. 4 150 HQI w/T5 or 3 250 HQI w/T5? Tank will be 96L x 30 W x 24T w/ 50 fuge, 50gal reservoir, 75 sump and 50RO/DI tanks for total of around 525 gal.
Thanks in advance....

I don't know about the pumps, but I question turning off the closed loop overnight in option #2. All that stagnant saltwater laying in those pipes could pose a problem.

Sure i had not thought of that good point might look at the smaller pumps than and if i need more flow add a power head. I really don't like them thats why the CL.

I use a Hammerhead with four 1.5" outlets into the tank for my CL. It runs 24/7. Once a year and stop it and clean it. I've got a Baracuda for my return and two 6100 Tunzes for my wave. The only thing I turn down at night is the Tunzes -- 60% from 11:00 to 5:00. I have a happy reef.

i have a 220 high and was wondering if a mag 18 would be a good return pump. its drilled with two 1.5 inch overflow holes. if not what is a good pump to use for a return and can i use the mag for water circulation in the tank

MAg not enough, go w/ a Sequence Dart Gold or Goby Gold. I would not put the mag in the tank. You could drill for a closed loop and use the MAG but it is still most likely too small. On my 300 i have decided to go eith a Sequence Barracuda for return and Goby Gold for the Closed Loop.

It willl add too much heat and sort of unsightly. They are in sump pumps but not power heads. If you do not want a CL the shoot for Tunze or vortech for extra flow..

do you think i could use it as a return pump? i was gonna hide it and branch it off for water circulation in the tank.

ok after doing some research i am considering instead of a closed loop maybe trying a few SEIO pumps with a controller in the tank. they seem to be small and rather effective with the amount of water flow the produce. as is the tunze pumps as well. how many gallons do i want to turn over an hour in my 220. also should i turn them down at night?

You whant at least 10 times so 2200 GPH turn over, remember the pums need to be serviced so putting pumps and plumbing in the tank will need to be removed ever so often to be cleaned. Look into the tunze or Koralia pumps or vortechs. You realy dont want a "pump" in the tank. the Vortech and Koralia have the wireing on the out side so you dont see the wire iin the tank\.
