need pyramid snail help

Was using a soft toothbrush to scrub them off yesterday, and found a few on the foot.

I got a couple of them off, and unfortunately a couple of the byssal threads tore. What should I do? Is he doomed??

I have 3 clams in this particular tank, and am picking up a wrasse today that was on order, which will hopefully help.

What I am thinking about doing is a FWD to hopefully get the snails I can't reach, and then put them into my other pyramid free tank, at least for a month or two until the wrasse can do it's thing.

Will a FWD make the snails I can't reach drop off, or am I risking introducing them into my pyramid free tank? If a FWD will do the job, how long should I keep them in there?

mechanical removal is a much better solution.

I've been pretty diligent with that, but some of the snails I just can't reach - the clam retracts its foot into its shell when I try to pull the snails off the underside, so I can't reach them. I need to be able to get them off, so I need another measure.

Will a FWD work, or should I do something else?

a fwd will do nothing for pyrams
