What would be an ideal 'basic' filtration system for a 37-gallon FOWLER (possibly converted to reef in the future)?

wetdry/skimmer. i would do a wet/dry w/ bioballs for added nitrifying bacteria. reef tank, take em out. skimmer wise, i would do a octo 110 or a euro rs80.

Newbie question - a 'wet/dry' is basically a sump under the aquarium, right? So this is an ideal filtration system - but my use bioballs with FOWLER but not with a reef?
