Anybody know where I can get a replacement pump for my 9002 skimmer? It is 4 months old and I'm sure Roger will replace but would like to get a spare to have on hand. Thanks Jeff

I would just chime in that this pump dying is very unusual. I can't say I have encountered a dead 1073.008. The most common issue is a broken or jammed impeller. Be sure the magnet is free to spin on the shaft, calcium and debris can fuse it to the shaft and stop the pump. Also, you should have only an impeller and shaft with 2 black rubber bushings. If you have an extra grey washer for example, that is a piece of the impeller that broke off and as a result the magnet can turn without engaging the impeller. I would test the pump stand alone in a bucket, this way you can be sure it doesn't work, another possibility is the pump is fine but the venturi is clogged or damaged and cannot take in air.

Roger,

I will look over pump again; do you have an email where I can send you pictures; in the mean time I will order a pump. Jeff

Hey Roger,

I bought this skimmer about 2 years ago and today I noticed that it wasn't producing any skim mate. I pulled it apart and this was exactly what I found- The extra grey washer that used to be connected to the magnet. Can I reattach this with a water safe glue? I was thinking the weight of the glue could actually create issues like an out of balance tire, but I might be overthinking it.

A small dab of superglue won't add enough weight to have an effect but such a repair will be very temporary, be sure to remove it from the metal shaft before doing any gluing as it must spin on the shaft. I would consider this a "get by" repair until a replacement drive unit arrives, part 1073.087, it can be ordered on Tunze.com.
