Need Ro/di in basement but no faucet :(

Advice needed. Need to put the filter and water in the basement but I don't have a sink or faucet to tap the water from. How are you guys with the same situation get freshwater to your filter.

I had this case at a family member's house. Ended up T-ing the water connects at their washing machine then running about 50ft of 1/4" tubing through the floor to their basement. Luckily the basement was unfinished so it was practical, I can see an issue if the basement is finished and you don't want a spaghetti of tubing running through it.

a piercing valve works well also. then u just need to find a place for the waste water. sump or floor drain.

This...there has to be a water pipe down there somewhere. Just use a piercing valve.

There is pipe but is this safe against leaking later on. Its a finished basement.

Well unless you want to cut the line and put and actual valve in, it's your only option if having it in the basement is required.
I've had my basement line tapped for 10 years now for my whole house humidifier and it's never leaked (finished as well).

you'll be all good just buy the better of the 2 styles if your hesitant about it. and besides your not a true reefer if you dont have a flood at least once!! lol
