Its a leather, it will be fine once it adjusts. They always look like that when touched or moved.

yer my other one did that when i put it in but started feeding withing the hour but this ones just sort of looking very limp lol

corb where abouts have you got yours mate? iv got my other one in the middle with medium flow and seems to be going ok wheres best place to pop this one? il take pic and show u whole tank

The coral looks fine. Leathers acclimate much slower than other corals, IME. As long as there are no black spots, I wouldn't worry. Medium flow with medium to high light works fine for them. I don't see any problems with placement.

thats a nice size toadstool you got. it should open up in a few. like said above, its just closed up due to handeling. these are pretty harty as far as care goes. dont need tons of light, will tolerate slightly dirty water conditions. as far as flow goes i think they like a medium flow. too fast and they stay closed or polyps will only expand a little.
i dont want to hijack with a pic of mine but here is a link so you can see where mine is in my 55g. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f265/whitetrashrocker/fishtank pics/fulltankshotfeb1408.jpg
good luck

I'd consider moving it down into the rock work. Right now, it looks like it's getting blasted by those two Koralias and it will never open like that.

Like everyone else said though, it should be fine. Sometimes when they are disturbed, they will shed a layer of mucus. That's not a problem either and once they do that, it should open right up...

I have 3. You touch them, flick them, wave too much water around them or burp and they get P.O'd quick. You can not really kill them things by mishandling them. Water quality, maybe, but, knocking them around, I seariously doubt it. Heard you can stick them in a blender and they will come back!?

Give it 2-3 times that size for room. When it inhales and expands, it will expand!

yo shaun right moved it down to the middle, its abouthalf an inch from the glass but that shoulnt be a prob should it? had to use a bit of marine epoxy to get it to stay as half its rock has snapped it was perched on

its in the left of the pic all shriveled up lol..

That should be fine. Give it a couple of days and it should open up...

I look fine there. Just give it about a week. Maybe 2. Sometimes they take a while to adjust to a new tank, but it looks fine to me. I would keep it in slow-medium flow.

just an update... came downstairs this morning at about half 7am turned the light on and it shirved up again! i thought these guys loved the light!!

Do you light being blasted by the light in the loo first thing in the morning?

Neither does the leather. Give it a bit of time and space mate, it'll be alright.
