Ive been going back and forth first with hamilton technology and then after that coralife due to upgrading my 175w lighting to 250w lighting. I had gotten the wrong maker for the light as the hamilton and the old coralife hoods look the same. Well after 2 ballasts with hamilton I found out it wasnt and so started with coralife. Well they sent me the wrong ballast at first and like this was the 5th ballast i sent back so getting a little old here. So i finally talk to someone whom i thought knew what they were doing. I wanted the dual 250w metal halide ballast with one cord to the hood. Well it came today and i damm near had a heart attack at first. The box said dual 175w. So i open. Plug it in. Only the left light went on. So i flipped again. Turned it over and it said dual 175w. So of course now im really flippin. Until all of a sudden the second light went on. So both 250's are running Heres the ? If it were dual 175w inside it wouldnt light would it? I just dont want to have to send it back again. I have had all my sps frags on the right for so long now. I want to spread them out.
If it says 175w then I would think that it is a 175 and you are just under driving the bulbs
