Hi and thanks all in advance for your replys. I recently got ripped off on craigslist on a fixture i bought. The fixture was an older hamilton fixture containing 3x400watt halides and 2x72" vhos.
The ballasts look to be old and worn out. I would like to replace and rewire the whole fixture using only the fixture housing that came with light its self. In doing this i would like to replace the VHO Ballast and the Halide Ballast's. I have the 400w ballasts already but now need to find the VHO.
At my local hardware store they have regular output ballasts for t-12's and my question is, can these be used for vho lights? I can get two normal output ballasts for much less than the price of a vho ballast. Would this work as it is only for actinics and the halides would be the source of light most supplying reef?
Again Thanks for you replys
