I have a few pictures here of my macro shots, this seems to be all the closer I can get, is this because of the lens it has? DSC-4707 sony with the lens it came with.
Here is the clam

I just used the quick fix button, any suggestions how to make these better? Trying to get the hang of getting good pictures. Any help appreciated, thanks.

With macro photography you have to define a subject. Get up close and personal. If you look closely at the images you provided above you'll notice that there is a small range that is in focus, this is the area you should 'zoom' into, make this your subject. It should be clear and concise to the viewer what you are trying to express.

Ya, I tried zooming in closer on it to make the back a blur affect but my subject blurs too, no luck for me there, the lens might not be a good lens for macros. Thanks for the information, I will try again tomorrow maybe to see if I can get a better picture.

Here are some newer ones I took today.

Getting any better or about the same you think? I am wanting to get photoshop elements 5.0 soon. Does that program have the tool to blur the back like some of these people do in their pictures?

Much better, keep working on it, get elements it'll give you the ability to crop, color correct and further tweak your images. You're off to a good start ... keep it up! :D
