How do u keep good water quality? I always have stuff dying bc my water won't stay right. I don't have a protein skimmer. I do water changes every 2 weeks. I have one of those Berlin sump filters. (Wet/dry I think) I need some help. What would help me?

Have you thought about a turf scrubber, seeing as how you are not running a skimmer? it will help you out .. in this situation or so I think.

But a skimmer is definitely something to look into, if you're not going to do the turf scrubber.

Overall an appropriate amount of liverock, not over-stocking, proper flow, proper feeding habits, along with Protien skimming and regular water changes will go along way.

That being said you need to provide more information if you want any meaningful help.
What size tank are we talking about?
How long has this tank been established?
What is in the tank as far as live stock?
What are you using for flow and circulation?
How large of water changes are you doing?
What are you using for lighting?
Do you test your water?
What are you test results for everything that you test for?

I always have stuff dying bc my water won't stay right.
What stuff is dying? and What makes you think your water is not right?

What size tank are we talking about?
75 gallon

How long has this tank been established?
About 3 months

What is in the tank as far as live stock?
3 damsels
1 Niger trigger
1 black and white heniochus
1 coral banded shrimp
and a couple of emerald crabs

What are you using for flow and circulation?
I have 2 powerheads

How large of water changes are you doing?
About 5-10 gallons

What are you using for lighting?
I have a stock light off one of my older tanks. Nothing too much. I don't have corals yet.

Do you test your water?
Yea and everything is normal exept the ph goes off easy

If everything is normal your OP confuses me.

What tests have you done???? What were the results???

Do you just have a phosphate issue and that is all???

Which power heads? What are your parameters for you water? Stock lights could mean PC lighting, but some more information would be greatly appreciated.

You have damsels ... they're mean bastards. They can kill like noones business.

Your tank is still relatively new, with that being said .. it would help to see the parameters. Could be something going on you're not aware of.

time is what you need. 3 months on a tank is just beginning. Work on doing regular water changes and let time take care of the rest.

What is normal? and what do you mean when you say ph goes off easy? I'm a bit confused when you say your water is not right but then you say everything is normal.

Are you dosing anything for any reason?

What are you test results for everything that you test for?
This question is just as much to see what your results are as it is to see what you are not testing for and to see what your definition of normal is. The more info you can provide the better the feedback you will get.

I don't think your current water change regimend is sufficient for your situation. I would double it at least until you get your problem solved. You could have a serious gas exchange issue that you're not aware of. A skimmer could help with that as well as removing waste from the water before it enter into the nitrogen cycle.
