Having some issues with my zoo's...........Something is nipping off the hairs of my zoo's.

My current bioload in the tank is a bi-color blenny, midas blenny, two ocellaris, green mandarin, and a hippo tang. Also in there is your typical clean up crew with herms and three different types of snails and I also have a good quanity of bristleworms.

Any idea on what may be nipping at the hairs? Anyone else have this problem? I have read that bristleworms will eat them but I read some threads on here saying that, that isnt true......

Thanks

Have you inspected the colonies closely for sundial snails and nudibranchs? Those are the top two Zoa. predators, in my experience.

Sometimes the skirts on zoas change length in response to lighting/water chemistry changes. Are you sure the skirts havn't just shortened?

I've had a couple of incidents of my hippo tang nipping at some corals (open brain and anthelia). Never had a problem with zoas that I know of, but each fish is different.
