Hi guys I had to move my tank a few months back to a new home/tank and when I did I lost a lot of my coral and my favorite sebae anemone.

Now that the tank is stable my question is should I stick with the H crispa or try something new? My pair of clowns need a new home and before I start to restock I would like to get something. I did see this and still might jump on this and was thinking about it.

Before I pull the trigger anyone have other ideas?

What type of clowns do you have? The only clowns that are hosted naturally by H. Malu is the clarkii I believe.

I don't know what type of clowns they are sorry. Heres a pic of the pair. I just know they cost me 40 bucks

I would look at a LFS but its really hard to find a good nem that is in good condition. Most of them are bleached like the one I got above I just want one with a little more color.

Yep, saddlebacks...why not try a haddoni? hardy anemone if you can find a healthy one to begin with. I also know they don't ship very well so I would search locally.

Oh and that H. crispa is not bleached by any means, it actually looks very healthy...or did you mean it was bleached when you got it?

bta 's are hardy and host almost every clown

I have to disagree here, BTA's are not the natural host of almost every clown. Of course there are many cases of sucess with various un-natural pairings but its nothing more than a crap shoot.

Yeah this guy was bleached when I got him. I would like a nem to stay on the sand bed but who wouldnt lol. I am going to research the Haddoni nem now. Thanks for the reply.

ok let me rephrase that bta's host a higher number of different species of clown then any other anenome so the possibility of finding a suitable symbiont are higher

if we are talking about the Stichondactyla Haddoni(carpet anemone)they are very hard to keep alive.they are easier to keep if you find one a LFS that is very healthy.you need to have lots of light and feeding silversides once or twice weekly.

Haddoni's are not hard to keep if you get a good one to start with. I feed mine bi weekly.
