need some id on these zoos

So, if I were to Classify these for my purposes using the guide this is what I would get:

#1 My Trend Name based on guide:
Radiant Red Alien Eyed Zoos
Sz: Eraser Head (EH) [I'm guessing the size]
M: Red
C: Alien Eyes Red
CR: Purple
S: Stubby Double Purple / Red

#2
Rainbow Zoos then I would ID each type on the rock. Too many for me to do. But these are beauties!!!

#3
Lemon Lime Starburst
Sz: EH
M: Lime
C: Starburt Lemon to Chocolate
S: Stubby Double Chocolate to Orange

The name does not matter since it is really for your own pleasure, but the ID parts can be done by 10 different people and using the ID methods given, the ID of each colony should be very similar given by each of the people trying to ID the zoos.

Hope this is useful for someone.

It looks like you got some very nice zoanthids. Most zoanthids have different names due to each store calling them different names, or each person that gets frags from the same colony.

I see that you are a HS Teacher. Is this the same way you treat the people you teach if they ask the same questions others have asked in the past. If he had posted 10 different times to get names for 10 different zoanthids it might be understandable to be irritated. If you are so sick of the “stupid ID threads”, then why do you keep posting on them? You are taking your frustration out on anyone that asks for an ID. If you don't have anything good to say then don't post. Everyone has asked questions at one time or another the most we can do is try to help.

hey newhere..
DO NOT bring my job/employment into this.. you dont know what your talking about.. if you want to go there, your opening a can of worms you cant close.. my advice- stick to facts you can prove and keep your nose out of my business.

hey guys thanks for youre imput my intentions was not to get people to fight we are all in this hobby for fun and since i just started collecting zoos i wanted to know what i had in my tank yes names of them are fun and it i could care less if i had a 600 dollars colony of zoos or a 3 dollar colony just wanted to know what i had. thanks

Obviously you don’t like my question. I still say if you don’t like the ID threads then stop looking at them. People come here for help not to be talked down to because someone is “sick of the stupid ID threads”. Not trying to start a war with you just pointing out that you are taking out your frustration on other people. JMO

I think the reason why so many people get bothered by I.D. threads is because we're only dealing with a few different species that happen to have many many color variations. So when someone asks for an I.D. all you're really getting is some cute little name that someone made up. I don't even have my new tank cycled nor any zoos and I'm already bothered by all the zoo I.D. threads.

If you can't find a name on zoaID then just make a name up for them, poof, they're identified. Not trying to be a jerk, but that's really how all the other names started.

Anyhow, nice looking zoos and I love the last pic. If anyone can PM me where I can find some like that I'd appreciate it :)

Hey, fair arguments here. I too am curious to naming zoos. Not for the purpose of creating a trendy name, although I do it because it is fun and entertaining for the family to make names up.

However, I do it to notice the slight variations between color morphs and patterns. I came up with a method to identifying zoanthids and it is a work in progress. I am using this simple but comprehensive system to go through and ID all the lil zoo colonies I own.

Let me know what you all think.

Zoanthid Identification:

To ID zoos I created my own system of classification in order to simplify the arduous process.

I will use brand names when they are known. When not, I will refer to the ID list and create my own trendy names. Regardless of brand name, the classification will still be implemented to ID the color and type of Zoanthid species.

Colors will be described in order from mouth to skirt. In case of double colors as in a ring fashion, they will be listed from inside to outside.
Four criteria:
M: Mouth
C: Center
CR: Center Ring (when available)
S: Skirt

Common names used to ID specific patterns:

“Fade” identifies fading colors in centers only; they will be listed from inside to outside.

“Double” identifies dual colors in skirts only. This means two-tones of the same color, or listed from inside to outside for different colors.

“Amped” identifies long tentacle skirts.

“Stubby” identifies short, and / or fat skirts.

“Alien Eye” identifies zoos that have an intense mouth color that extends into the center with the same color although color intensity may lighten slightly.

“Eagle Eye” identifies zoos that have one mouth color and two different center ring colors.

“Crush” identifies zoos that have the same basic color for the mouth, center, and skirt.

“Rainbow” identifies two or more different colored Zoanthid species within the same colony.

“Starburst” identifies a separate color that radiates from mouth to skirt in a star pattern.

“Galaxy” identifies polka-dots of contrasting color somewhere in the center.

“Striated” will be listed for obvious striations that run from the mouth to skirt.

“Metallica” identifies a metallic appearance of vibrant contrasting color that runs along striations from mouth to skirt.

“Donut” identifies two distinct circles of contrasting color one in mouth and one in center.

This is genius. YGPM;)

For those of you without any constructive criticism, if you're not interested in reading or dealing with ID threads, don't read them.

That kind of goes for anyone that is posting on threads with the intent to flame the author. You're getting too comfortable here.

Show some respect and be a positive force, lead by example, or leave.
