Need some input for Closed Loop system!!!

I'm in need of some advice on closed loop system on my 90g bowfront. I'm looking at Iwaki external pumps and wanting to know which one would work best and I need a multi current director, something like SCWD, but something that can do 4 outlet instead of two. I want to keep LPS and SPS in this tank and I'm curious on what type of flow I would need. I was thinking about plumbing it so it would have two coming in from the back hitting towards the front of the tank and two from the front blowing towards the rocks. Here's a picture of my tank with rocks already within. I'm looking to remove all the pumps to replace with this closed loop system. Thanks for any input!!!
Also, the return pump is a mag 5 if that make any difference....

If the return is a mag 5 I would think about getting a bigger one. If you plan on splitting it 4 ways plus the added head pressure decreasing the total flow also I wouldn't think a 5 is not big enouph... JMO :) A SCWD also dramatically reduces the GPH flow I have read but don't know first hand. Hope this helps.

The mag 5 is mainly for the return from the sump. I want to add in another external pump for the closed loop system. I was looking at Iwaki external pumps for this purpose. So any help with which model of the pump I should use with splitting it four ways and what type of flow director I should use with it would be very helpful, thanks!!!

What about a Panworld/Blueline 100PX-X 1270gph. The Panworld pumps are made by an engineer from Iwaki. They are suppose to be quieter and they come prewired with a plug unlike Iwaki. You could plumb one of those into an oceansmotions 4-way unit. www.oceansmotions.com
Stick a sea swirl on your mag 5's return and whammo nice flow for SPS.
Dunno..just suggestions..

MIkey, YOu should look somewhere3 in the neighborhood of 1000-1500gph for your pump. I have Genx pcx 40 pump that is approx 1150, and i love it. very nice and quiet. I have a good mixture of softies, lps and sps in my tank. I also use a mag 9.5 return pump.

Thanks pickupman, here's my next question....Is it better to have a pressure rated pump??? I'm looking at blueline 40x-HD and it runs 1270GPH at 0ft with max ft at 13ft. It is not pressure rated. But the blueline 55HD is pressure rated runs at 1100GPH at 0ft with max ft at 28ft. The next level up is 70HD and that runs at 1750GPH and I think that might be a overkill or is that all right? It is a pressure rated pump as well with max at 39ft.
Also thanks titanfan, I have looked at those before. So IF I go with Oceansmotions 4 way with verson#3, 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 sequence. So which pump is not overkill for mainly LPS with some SPS tank?? Thanks!!!

MIkey, I dont think you would need a pressure rated pump unless you will be going up a flight of stairs! I bought that quiet one 4000, and without back pressure, it rattled like a 1927 ford! you whould be just fine with the 40X. BTW, mine is not pressure rated.

If you ever do decide to go with a OM I think a pressure rated is preffered but not 100% nesicary. If the bigger pump thats pressure rated is not much more $ you may wanna go ahead and get that and just valve it down which is totally fine with a PR pump. Just incase you ever go want to go even bigger on a tank like we all tend to do you have a bigger pump. Know what I mean?

Thanks Angela!!! I want to go bigger later on so I'll get the 70 HD and just put a valve on it. I wasn't sure about it at first....IT doesn't cost that much more anyway....Thanks pickupman, I'm learning as I go along....Hopefully I can con my friend into getting that for me for christmas....:D
I'll keep you guys up to date on it once I get it installed, which it may take a couple of month or so....Thanks again!!!
