Need some quick help

A friend of mine found out that all of the bracing across is 220 gallon aquarium had broke. The glass braces were found broke in the water, resting on the rocks.

He said by the time he had arrived, the front glass of the tank was bowed approximately 1-1.5". He used some clamps normally used to frame houses to get it back in good health. No leaks currently, but obviously the tank can't stay this way.

What the best way to go about fixing this, or would it be easier to just purchase another tank? Leaking/breaking is a much bigger concern than buying a new tank.

I would go with a new tank. You need to drain a good portion of the old tank to put a new brace on any way and no guarantee it will hold for the life of the tank especially after it already bowed out as much as it did without braking. New tank = more piece of mind especially with 220 gallons.

Second the new tank. It would definitely give him more piece of mind rather then just wondering and worrying all the time when the repair will fail. Plus, it'll be an easier change over. Repair would mean transferring everything to tubs and buckets, keeping things in them for the time it would take to repair the tank and let it cure, rather than just moving things to tubs then directly into a new tank.
