Need some schooling on the osmolator

One of my next steps I would like to take is an auto top-off for evaporation. I have a sump and I have the ability to locate a resevoir and RO/DI unit in a closet that backs up to the tank.

I would have the RO/DI shut off via a float switch(unless there is a better way). I will also have the top-off feed through a Kalk reactor.

What Osmolator do I need and what other parts/accessories if any?

Thanks for any information.

Get the universal. That's it. Everything you need is there for the resevoir to sump loop. IF you want to fully automate it and take the risk (small, but it definitely occasionally happens), you can hook a float switch to the ro/di solenoid and just hook that up directly. The downside is that in fact ro/di's need to process some critical amount of water to work effeciently and the variance on a float isn't enough for that unless your sump is huge. Again, you introduce the risk of catastrophic failure if the solenoid or float fail. Personally, I'd just manually turn the ro/di on to refill the resevoir as needed.

I second the suggestion to manually refill the reservoir. Ultimately, less to fail, and less damage when it does.

I will vote against manual refilling, I tended to fall asleep or screw something up at least once a month doing that. It only works if you drill the reservoir and plumb an emergency overflow drain at the top or refill in the garage or outside. Spectrapure makes a good system with two switches, an electronic solenoid and a manual float and this is very safe. You will want the 3155, just make sure the pumped water goes up to the tank and not to the sump or the reservoir will siphon down into the sump even after the pump is off.

I agree and will want to make the unit shut off automatically. I will run the output to my overflow box and will feed it through a Kalk reactor.
