I am looking for an afforadable source of sheet acylic suitable for a DIY 20x11x16 sump.

Also looking for someone to make me a rimless/frameless 16"x16"x16" (possibly 18x18x18) glass cube tank for my office, drilled on the center bottom for drain and return.

Any recommendations appreciated.

You need to talk to Manny ....He is the Acylic Man
He goes by the name thesaent14 here on RC
Hope this helps

I work at a frame shop and always have extra acrylic pieces around. I use two grades, but they are both a little less than 1/8" thick (.118" I believe). One has a blue liner and one has a brown liner...the latter is the higher quality, but I believe either is fine for aquarium applications. If I remember to, I will toss some of the scraps into my car before the next meeting and bring them in. I can even cut to size if anyone needs.

kathy, i think what you use will be too thin for what he needs(a sump)

id recommend using 1/4" acrylic

seconding prospect plastics also if you can make the trip, they have pretty good prices there and are great people.

You're right, but it works great for sectioning off the sump. I also have some 1/4"...I'll bring that to the meeting too if it's small enough to fit into my car.

I think I will need 1/4" for sure. Unfortunately, all the plastic supply places I found are closed today, and I was not able to get to them earlier in the week. Hopefully I can get to someplace later this week.
