Need Stocking Suggestions

For future reference, 24 hours of QT is useless and in fact may be more stressful on the fish than just putting it in the DT. New fish should be QT'd for 4 weeks minimum, 6 weeks preferred. This gives them a chance to settle in and to get eating well, and for you to observe the fish and confirm it is disease free.

Thank you for pointing this out. I understand the concept of a quarantine, that is why I have a quarantine tank. I opted to not do a full QT on this fish due to their notoriously finicky eating habits. I wanted to get him in the display tank to make sure he would eat in the display tank, so if there was a problem I could take him back to the LFS a.s.a.p (where he was eating).

I apologize for the way that read. Sounded harsher than I intended. I understand 100% your thought process. However I still think if you were going to only do 24 hours, then it would be better to skip entirely.

I agree. In retrospect I should have done the 2 hr dip then DT. I did not want to risk the fish dying on undernourishment if he didn't eat in my tank.
