Your tank is coming along nicely. I would pull off those sponges and give them a good cleaning. At first I thought your pumps were all clogged up with massive detritus. ;)

Thanks! And yea, its hard to believe they've only been there a few days <G>.

I really need to hit the feed mode when I feed :-)

mpdharley, great pics. Why the sponges on the powerheads? Is that to protect the fish or the propellars?

Well I just bit the bullet and bought 4 of them for my tank. Cant wait to see what they can do. Now I just need to buy a Battery backup.

Thanks! The sponges come with the pumps. There have been a couple of reports of fish getting sucked into/caught in the pumps. I went ahead and put them on -- For now, I figure better safe than sorry.

Makes Sense. I would Imagine a Fish would get pretty messed up if it got sucked in.

So how big are these powerheads? In the pics they look pretty small but it is hard to really tell without comparing them to something else. Does anyone have any pics of them next to a coke can or something? Or any measurements?

Look through the acclimation bags at a Tunze 6100 w/ magnet next to a VorTech.

Dimensions are 3" in diameter and 2.5" wide (or tall, depending on how you want to describe the distance from the glass to the tip of the frame).
