Need tank drilled and bulkhead installed for overflow

Need a hole drilled, and bulkhead plumbing parts (preferably adjustable height). I'll use this as an overflow, as new water is pumped in, the old will leave via this overflow.

I have an older Oceanic 80 gallon tall tank that I purchased used a few months ago, and I'm currently building a stand and hood. I want to use this as a freshwater discus tank. Due to the nature of set up, a large amount of water will need to be changed out, and I'm dreading the bucket brigade.

I would like to know if anyone knows for sure if:
1. Is this tank is drillable?
2. does anyone recommend anyone in town that could perform the service for me, and approx. how much?
Where? or do you make house calls?

I would give Marine Sloutions a call they do tank drilling for $25 a hole, I think that is the price?? You would have to take it there and they also have bulkheads that you can purchase. Look at the sticky at the top of this forum for their #. good luck

I think Brad drilled some holes in a tank for me for about $10 or $15 but that was a few years ago.

I just picked up my tank yesterday from Marine Solutions. I had them drill a 1 3/4 inch hole in my 55 gallon Oceanic tank that I bought in 1985. Prior to drilling I called Oceanic at 1-800-255-4527 & asked them about drilling on my tank. They were very nice folks over there & told me that only the bottom was tempered glass. Give them a call, it can't hurt.

Now comes the fun part of starting over with the plumbing, etc. I am still on the rebound from my 5 days without power. The only good that came out of it is that I'm improving the entire system. For all the U-Tube folks with overflow sipons - get the tank drilled. I should have done this years ago.

I was going to build an overflow siphon, but the more I researched it, people seem to have floods and problems with them loosing suction.
I was also going to pop for a diamond bit and drill it myself, but my wife 'hates' my hobby, so this will likely be the last large tank I'll own, so Iwould use the bit once, and likely never again.

I'll call Oceanic just to confirm this thing i have is not tempered glass (it's nearly 5/8" thick, so I'm 99% sure it's not)
Then I'll give Marine Solutions a buzz and see if they can help me out.

Just a follow up, Marine Solutions hooked me up. Less than 30 bucks later, I'm all set. FANTASTIC service and great to work with.
I did call Oceanic, but this tank is old, and possibly custom made by them, so they couldn't tell me for sure if the glass was tempered, so I rolled the dice. It all turned out ok. Now I need to get cracking on getting this thing going.
