need to feel safe with this osmolator mounting option

Roger,

I see in the manual that a mounting option is to use silicone. This is the only option for me because of various issues to get the eye level low enough for it to work. However, I need to have assurance that using silicone to mount the bracket to the tank will be safe and secure. I do not want a flood. Is it safe and secure?

It is quite safe on glass and bonds very well using the fiberglass pads included as i had done this myself. But I do not know how well and long term trust worthy it would bond to acylic of the sump

It is safe if you do it right. The glass has to be clean and you need use the included mounting plates which are made out of 80% glass fiber. You will want to get the glass absolutely clean and ideally scuff it with some fine grit sand paper or a scotchbrite pad.
