Need your opinion on my filtration

I just set my new 24g nano up. I place small to medium live rock out of my 75g on the far left chamber on the back with bio balls from my 75g on top.The middle chamber has a black sponge on bottom then sevral medium pieces of live rock on top of it along with a sponge(they came with system) on top of live rock pieces.The far right chamber has my thermometer and power head in it. The water in the tank came from my 75g also along with sand and live rock. Is this ok or what do I need to do to make it ok. Please help. Thanks Chad

P.s.. the reason for the sponge on the bottom of the middle chamber is so when I placed the rock down into the chamber,I would not break the bottom of the aquarium

well how much rock do you have in the main tank? IMO, you're gonna have a nitrate farm with those bioballs and sponge pads in the chambers. If you've got enough rock in the main tank, then i'd just leave the chambers empty, or maybe do a little fuge or something? idk..maybe just live rock rubble?

About 24-30 lbs of rock in the main tank. How about I remove the top sponge and see how my nitrates are? I have about 12 bio balls with the rock rubble as filtration.I want to leave the bottom sponge in for protection to the glass bottom of the middle chamber. How would this be? thanks sir dudeguy!

I'd still remove the bioballs...i wouldnt even risk it. Those are the main things that would build up nitrates. You could also remove that top sponge too. I understand your point on keeping the bottom one...that might be a good idea. But i know lots of peoople put egg-crate on the bottom of their tanks to support the rock...could you do something like that?
