not a LTA maybe heteractis aurora??

oh go to the pic in your gallery, right click then go to bottom of list click properties, then copy url, then go to your post click the img button and paste url.

hope you understood that

If you don't want to have to make the pic so small you can put the orginal size pic on photobucket and then photo bucket has different url's under it so all you have to do is click on the img url and then paste it into the thread

it's most likely a young Macrodactyla doreensis "lta"
I purchased my LTA as a decent size nem. Do they really look that different as a juvenile?

yes they can and do and i've seen many looking just like it.

wouldn't happen to have a uniform orange or orange-red column?

Salty, LTA's don't look different as juveniles, just smaller versions. And your LTA is beautiful, the lavender is exquisite.

btw, the first pic in the thread is H. aurora, you can tell by the beading (swellings) on the tentacles--not to mention the coloration.

not always true,
julian sprung's Invertebrates A Quick Reference Guide has a good pic on page 59.
from the book: "Small specimens of M. doreeniss may have beaded tentacles like H. aurora...."
there's more but you'll have to get the book, i highly recommend it to all.

I am going to say it is an H. aurora.

As reference to juvi LTAs, here is a bad picture of mine ( about 3 times the size now ) it was about 3" when this picture was taken. Besides being bigger it looks no different now.
