Nemo's about to bite the dust

So I come home to check up on my two fish and I find my Ocellaris clown is in a crevice in one of my LR pieces in a curled position and is breathing really hard. He seemed stuck. I got him out with some help from a turkey baster. HE started swimming all crazy and then went really limp and was very weak. Now he's still breathing really hard and is tucked by another piece of rock. What happened?

Here's some background info. The tank is about 5 weeks old. My other fish looks totally fine. I raised teh tank temps 3 days ago to 82 Ã"šÃ‚ºF to kill the ich on my newly arrived royal gramma. EVerything seemed fine intil today. The only inhabitants in the tank are 4 hermits, the clown, the gramma, and LR and LS.

I'll do some water tests once teh sediment I kicked up with the turkey baster settles down. Anyone have any ideas?

If the gramma has ich, the clowns might be catching it. Raising the temperature to 82 won't kill ich. There are links to two articles on ich at the bottom of this thread:

You really need a hospital tank so that you can do a hyposalinity treatment.

I'll read it, but I should mention that the clown has no ich spots

when you see ich spots its usually too late, slow breathing and hiding are definate signs of disease if the fish was fine before.. id sort out a hospital tank and treat with copper immediately..

tank is 5 weeks old? you have at least one ocellaris and a royal Gramma? sounds like the tank may not be cycled yet...or you started another small cycle with the addition of the newer fish. Water change.. increase flow and airation in the tank. Water change. oh yeah did I mention a water change?

I had done a water change the day before and yes I made sure the tank was cycled. I checked my water params and 0 nitrites and 0 ammonia. pH was higher than I had expected though. I have this strange feeling that he tried to eat some of my hydroids which got ugly. There's a stalk of hydroids on a piece of rock and they were all balled up while the rest was fine. I think that may have been a problem.
