Who knew? dottybacks eat nori? With great trepidation I have let a neon dottyback into my tank, he has been a model citizen, even sharing nori with all the other fish.
My neon male is only a jerk to the females I added. The last he chased out of the tank (I so hate rimless tanks!).
Otherwise he is the one who gets kicked around by everyone else. Especially the little regal angel in that tank seems to have some beef with him.
My blue chromis will eat nori. He learned the behavior from my foxface and kole tang. The three of them are inseparable in the tank (go figure). My wrasses will eat pieces of it if they are in the water column.
My wrasse goes after nori as well. I agree it's a learned behavior from watching the other fish. I still feed frozen meaty foods but he is as thick as my thumb and I think that all the nori he eats between the meaty food servings is the reason.
